The ReUse People - April 2006 NEWSLETTER

TRP Is on the Move!
By Ted Reiff

All good things must come to an end. The curtain falls, the music stops, the party winds up. However, in the case of TRP, the lease is up, the trucks are arriving, and the moving party has just started! The ReUse Bazaar at Alameda Point will be relocating throughout the month of April.

When good things end, better things sometimes start. We think that's the case with our great new location in Oakland. The address is:
9235 San Leandro Street
Oakland, CA 94603
(510) 383-1983

As happy as we've been in our adopted home of Alameda, things look even brighter for us in Oakland. We will occupy an old lumber mill on the premises of St. Vincent DePaul. In addition to sharing this “compound” with Saint Vincent, we will be adjacent to the Habitat for Humanity ReStore. This combination will give you, our valued customer, an even greater selection. While TRP specializes in used building materials, including lumber, Habitat’s ReStore specializes in new building materials donated by manufacturers and distributors. Between Habitat and TRP, you will enjoy over 31,000 square feet of new and used materials to choose form.

In addition to that, we are close to Bart and the Oakland Airport. Talk about being multimodal! Now you can shoulder your 2X4s home on Bart or store that pallet of used bricks in the overhead of a convenient Southwest flight. Choices galore.

We expect to begin moving April 10 and be operational in our new facility by May 1.

To celebrate the move and other breakthroughs, St. Vincent DePaul, Habitat and TRP are sponsoring a Recycling and ReUse Faire with vendors, food, entertainment and -- get this -- a Trash Fashion Show. I don't know yet what I'll be wearing. Any suggestions? The date is Saturday, June 24, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mark your calendar. Everyone is welcome!

Special Event Reminder

Alternative Building Materials and Design Expo
This is the largest presentation of Green Building materials, design and practices in Los Angeles. TRP will be a featured panelist as part of the Expo’s Seminar Series.

May 4, 2006, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Santa Monica Air Center, Barkar Hangar

New Inventory

Truck-load Sale redo! Remember the great materials we got from the home in Boulder, Colorado a couple of weeks ago? Well, in about two more weeks we are expecting another load from an even larger house – this time the complete deconstruction of a 5,500 square foot home. Keep in touch and Brandy or Luke will provide updates on the arrival date.

Special of the Month

Moving Sale! This month’s special is 75% off on everything except lumber and complete kitchen cabinet sets. But read this fine print: all items must be removed the day they are purchased!!

Vehicle Donation Program

TRP is accepting donations of cars, trucks, SUV's, RV's, and motorcycles. Donating a vehicle is a simple process. You just pick up the phone and call. We do the rest. So if you'd like to get rid of an unwanted vehicle, phone now for a pickup. 800-574-0888. Or you can donate your vehicle online at www.vehiclesforcharity.com. Unfortunately, vehicle donations can only be made from the Bay Area counties plus Santa Cruz.
